contributing to the development of the Francophone community and workforce in the Northwest Territories. The discussions also highlighted the importance of partnerships between governments and community organizations in delivering services tailored to the realities of the North.\u003C/p>\n\u003Ch1 data-section-id=\"gbnf6r\" data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"699\">Supporting newcomers every step of the way\u003C/h1>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"984\">Francophone immigration plays an important role in the vitality and development of northern communities. To meet the needs of people choosing to settle in the Northwest Territories, Collège Nordique has developed a range of services that support them at every stage of their journey.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1237\">Whether they are learning French or English, building essential skills, completing a language assessment, pursuing post-secondary studies or integrating into their community, Collège Nordique provides support tailored to each person's needs and goals.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1514\">Among these services are the CLIC and LINC language training programs, funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which help eligible participants develop their language skills in a welcoming environment aligned with their personal and professional goals.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"1516\" data-end=\"1712\">Collège Nordique also offers vocational training, post-secondary programs and a variety of support services that promote skills development, employability and full participation in community life.\u003C/p>\n\u003Ch1 data-section-id=\"1tlvpx7\" data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"1761\">Practical services that promote independence\u003C/h1>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"1763\" data-end=\"2155\">The discussions also provided an opportunity to present the new Literacy Outreach Centre (link), developed in partnership with the NWT Literacy Council. Open to the entire community, the Centre offers personalized support to help participants develop essential skills, including reading, writing, digital literacy, technology use, financial literacy, and French and English language learning.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2342\">For newcomers, these services provide practical support that fosters independence, integration and participation in the economic, social and community life of the Northwest Territories.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"3200\">The meeting also highlighted the language testing services offered by Collège Nordique. Through its partnership with the Government of the Northwest Territories, the College now delivers TEF Canada and CELPIP tests directly in Yellowknife. In the past, candidates often had to travel thousands of kilometres and incur significant expenses to complete these assessments, which are essential for many immigration, permanent residence, employment and post-secondary education pathways. For many, these barriers resulted in lengthy delays or even forced them to postpone or abandon their plans. By making these services available locally, Collège Nordique and the Government of the Northwest Territories have significantly improved access to language testing, strengthening the territory's ability to meet its workforce needs and attract new skilled residents.\u003C/p>\n\u003Ch1 data-section-id=\"158p907\" data-start=\"3202\" data-end=\"3252\">Partnerships that respond to northern realities\u003C/h1>\n\u003Cp data-start=\"3254\" data-end=\"3677\">The discussions underscored the complementary partnerships that support Collège Nordique's work.
