The Centre for Research and Innovation in Francophone Education (CRIFÉ) at Cégep Gérald-Godin and the Collège nordique francophone are proud to announce the receipt of a $55,000 one-year grant from the Réseau des cégeps et collèges francophones du Canada (RCCFC), under the College Partnership Fund – Official Language Communities Stream.

This funding will allow for a better understanding of the linguistic, social, and community realities of francophone immigrants in two distinct contexts. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of both institutions to support francophone communities.

“This funding will allow us to better understand the student experiences of these populations and to develop a common approach, while adapting it to our respective sociolinguistic contexts. This is an essential project to reinforce the vitality of our francophone communities,” says Christian Bergeron, Ph.D., principal researcher at CRIFÉ (Cégep Gérald-Godin).

“The country’s linguistic diversity is evolving rapidly, driven in particular by the journeys of francophone immigrants. At the Collège nordique francophone, we witness every day the richness they bring to our communities. This project will help us better understand these realities and strengthen the ties between Montréal and Yellowknife to develop innovative approaches to support francophone vitality,” says Patrick Arsenault, Executive Director of the Collège nordique francophone.
