The Collège Nordique Francophone (CNF), the Association franco-yukonnaise (AFY) and the Association des francophones du Nunavut (AFN) signed a historic agreement at the pan-territorial meeting on French-language post-secondary education, held June 17-19, 2024 in Whitehorse. This collaboration, supported by Canadian Heritage, aims to increase the availability of post-secondary programs and services in French in all three territories.
Isabelle Salesse, Executive Director of AFY, emphasized the importance of this alliance: "By joining forces, we can maximize our efficiency and resources to meet the needs of our communities. Together, we're going further."
Patrick Arsenault, Executive Director of the CNF, agrees: "Everyone is highly motivated. We all want to make it work''.
Goump Djalogue, President of AFN, also expressed his enthusiasm: "This agreement marks a decisive turning point in strengthening the offer of post-secondary education in French in our territories."
This agreement opens up new possibilities for Francophone education in the territories, promising an era of opportunity and development for French speakers in Canada's North.
