Discover the magic of cumbia
Are you familiar with cumbia, the emblematic Colombian dance with its vibrant, haunting rhythms?

Join us on Tuesday, December 17th, from 6 pm to 7 pm (MST), for an immersive session combining history, music and dance, hosted by Haudry Escandon. Originally from Colombia, Haudry is a zumba instructor who grew up listening to cumbia, and would like to share her passion with you in Spanish and in French.

Dive into the world of cumbia and learn :
✔️ Its history and cultural evolution in Latin America.
✔️ Its influences and variations in different countries.
✔️ The role of traditional instruments in its unique rhythms.

But also, let yourself be swept away by a participatory and festive experience: dance, play or sing to the caliente rhythm of cumbia!

Workshop schedule

• Theoretical introduction: discover the historical and musical aspects of cumbia.
• Active listening: explore the different styles and sub-genres of cumbia.
• Interactive workshop: introduction to dance and traditional instruments.

Location: in person at Collège Nordique.

Descubre la magia de la cumbia 
¿Has oído hablar de la cumbia, el emblemático baile colombiano de ritmos vibrantes y cautivadores? 

Acompáñanos el martes 17 de diciembre, de 18:00 a 19:00 (MST), en una sesión de inmersión que combina historia, música y baile, animada por Haudry Escandón. Haudry, colombiana de nacimiento y profesora de Zumba, creció escuchando cumbia y le gustaría compartir su pasión contigo, en español y francés. 

¿Por qué participar? 

Sumérgete en el mundo de la cumbia y conoce: 
✔️ Su historia y evolución cultural en América Latina. 
✔️ Sus influencias y variaciones en los diferentes países. 
✔️ El papel de los instrumentos tradicionales en sus ritmos únicos. 

Y también, déjate llevar por una experiencia participativa y festiva: ¡baila, toca o canta al ritmo caliente de la cumbia! 

Desarrollo del taller 

• Introducción teórica: descubrimiento de los aspectos históricos y musicales de la cumbia
• Escucha activa: exploración de los diferentes estilos y tipos de la cumbia.
• Taller interactivo: introducción al baile y a los instrumentos tradicionales. 

Lugar: en persona en el Collège Nordique.
Inscripción obligatoria.
