Literacy Outreach Centre Activities and Workshops

Collège Nordique and the NWT Literacy Council have partnered to create a bilingual Literacy Outreach Centre in Yellowknife. Located at the Collège Nordique, this new community space offers services in both French and English to support learning and skills development, including:

• literacy workshops
• digital literacy workshops (computer skills, Internet and online safety)
• financial literacy workshops (budgeting, taxes, savings and credit)
• one-on-one tutoring English and French
• conversation cafés language
• learning and community integration programs

The Centre is open to anyone who wants to improve their reading, writing, digital or financial literacy skills, learn English or French, or take part in activities that support social and community integration.

Services are available to everyone, including:

• newcomers
• Indigenous people
• seniors
• adults facing barriers or vulnerable situations
• families
