Workshop Going Outside in Winter – Practical Strategies and Educational Approaches (In French)

Available

This French workshop is intended for early childhood educators and francophone parents across the North (NWT, Yukon, Nunavut, Canada).

Offered online by Collège Nordique, this practical and reflective workshop is led by Myriam Sauriol, educator and trainer in nature-based eco-education. It aims to support educational teams in developing safe, realistic, and meaningful winter outdoor practices.

It will allow you to:

  • explore practical strategies for spending more time outdoors in winter;
  • discover activity ideas and rituals adapted to Northern realities;
  • reflect on educational approaches that foster a connection to nature and the land;
  • engage in peer discussion and collective reflection.

Grounded in the ALEX framework and local cultural realities, this training offers concrete tools to sustainably integrate winter outdoor practices into your setting.

About the facilitator:

An educator for nearly 15 years, certified in nature-based eco-education and holder of an AEC in language stimulation, Myriam Sauriol is also the mother of two children and a trainer at Cégep Gérald-Godin in eco-education by nature. Her practice is deeply rooted in fostering a connection to the living world. She supports children and adults alike in developing emerging pedagogical approaches anchored in the territory and contributes to the growth of engaged communities of practice.

This workshop is offered in collaboration with Réseau TNO Santé, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada.
