Beadwork activity for Truth and Reconciliation Day

  • Culture & arts

On Saturday, September 30, Collège Nordique held a beadwork event to mark Truth and Reconciliation Day. The event brought together students, teachers and community members to celebrate Indigenous culture and honour the memory of residential school survivors. Participants came together to create beautiful brooches in the shape of orange t-shirts. It was a day filled with emotion, sharing and solidarity, which strengthened the connection between the various participants. This beading activity will remain engraved in our hearts as a testimony to our commitment to reconciliation and respect for Indigenous Peoples.
