Collège Nordique meets with Minister Caitlin Cleveland.

Collège Nordique was honoured to welcome the GNWT Minister of Education, Culture and Training, Caitlin Cleveland, to its premises. The visit was the first official meeting between the Minister and our educational institution.

Welcomed by Patrick Arsenault, General Manager of the CNF, and Angélique Ruzindana Umunya, Chair of the Board of Directors, the Minister was warmly received and had the opportunity to meet members of the team and talk with faculty and students. Emphasis was placed on the importance of the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program, and its cultural aspects.

During the visit, the Minister and her team of James Fulford, Sam Shannon and Nigel Wodrich met with Patrick Arsenault and Angélique Ruzindana to discuss Collège Nordique's services, including Canadian Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP), and the challenges facing our institution. Discussions also focused on the Collège's prospects for the future, current projects such as CLIC program, partnership opportunities, contextualized learning, pan-territorial collaborations, and current accreditation processes, among other topics.

At the end of this productive exchange, it was agreed that more regular meetings will be organized between the Ministry and the College, in order to maintain a constant dialogue and keep abreast of developments and changes. According to Angélique Ruzindana : "These exchanges are essential, as they enable the GNWT to better understand the College's activities and needs, thus fostering closer collaboration".

Collège Nordique expresses its gratitude to the Minister for her visit and looks forward to working together to advance education and training in the NWT.
