A new way to learn the Tłı̨chǫ language: courses in nature

  • Education

Imagine learning a new language outdoors on a cool, sunny autumn day, or expanding your vocabulary while enjoying a delicious bannock cooked over an open fire...

Collège Nordique has made this possible with its course entitled "Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı̀ on the land". Unique in its kind, this course offers outdoor learning activities, and takes place in Įtłʼǫ̀ school's wall tent. Here you'll learn about the Tłı̨chǫ language and culture through nature.

Visualize a sunny day, where you hear a Tłı̨chǫ speaker say "Edıı dı̀ı̀" as they take off thier coat, and you immediately understand that it's hot. Each lesson takes place in a natural setting, making learning as authentic as possible.

This course will run from September 16 to December 9, 2024, every Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (MST). Sessions are designed to follow your outdoor interests, integrating captivating cultural elements through traditional storytelling. This program offers interactive activities to enhance your communication with Elders Knowledge Keepers and the community.

Don't miss our exclusive offer of $299 instead of $349 for all registrations before September 2, 2024. Join this unique and rewarding adventure that will reconnect you with nature, while introducing you to the richness of the Tłı̨chǫ language and culture.
