Two days to elevate our communications in the postsecondary sector

On July 17 and 18, 2025, our marketing team — Natacha St Vignes (Director of Marketing and Communications) and Marilou Pilote (Marketing and Content Creation Coordinator) — had the privilege of attending PSEWeb 2025 in Toronto, a national conference for marketers, designers, and community managers working in colleges and universities.

This was the third consecutive year that Collège Nordique took part in this flagship event in higher education marketing. It has become a key opportunity to spot emerging trends, exchange best practices with institutions from across the country, and strengthen our strategic thinking as a growing postsecondary institution in the North.

A Unique Perspective to Share and Strengthen

As the only accredited French-language college north of the 60th parallel, the Collège Nordique operates in an environment that differs greatly from that of larger urban universities. Challenges related to geography, climate, linguistic minority status, and welcoming new populations call for adapted, context-sensitive strategies.

Participating in PSEWeb allows us to compare these challenges to other institutional realities while identifying common issues such as limited resources, targeted recruitment, and student engagement. It also helps clarify what we want to do differently — and why.

Stepping Back to Move Forward

As the Collège Nordique develops new academic programs, these two days gave our team valuable space to reflect on our communication tools, approaches, and positioning.

Some sessions sparked thoughtful conversations about how to build lasting relationships with our audiences, make our messaging more accessible, and adapt to today’s digital codes. While broad in scope, these insights contribute to our ongoing efforts to better serve learners across the North — in all their diversity.

A Commitment Aligned with Our Mission

This participation in PSEWeb is fully aligned with the Collège Nordique’s mission: to offer high-quality, French-language postsecondary education anchored in the realities of the North. It strengthens our ability to build strategic, human, and relevant communications.
