Management and Administration of Early Childhood Services

About the course

This course aims to develop an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities involved in managing early childhood services in a Francophone minority context.

Students will explore the roles and responsibilities of managers, legislative and policy frameworks, team supervision, human resources, financial and records management, as well as ethical issues.

The course emphasizes the analysis of management practices in relation to territorial realities and quality requirements. It promotes a critical, ethical and inclusive approach for managers working in Northern contexts.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• act with integrity and transparency in their management decisions;
• demonstrate an inclusive approach that respects cultural and linguistic diversity;
• assume their responsibilities with autonomy and ethical commitment;
• critically reflect on the impact of their decisions on the quality of services provided to children and families.

This course is intended for:

• managers and supervisors working in childcare services in Canada.
